The Beatles、2ndBBCラジオライブアルバム。1963〜1965年にかけて本国イギリスのBBCラジオにて放送された音源を集めたアルバム第2弾。1994年の前作から19年ぶりの続編となった。前作と重複している楽曲もあるが、全て別音源。1995年に前作から『Baby It's You』がシングルカットされた際にC/Wに収録されたアルバム未収録BBC音源「I'll Follow the Sun」「Devil in Her Heart」「Boys」は3曲とも今作に収録されたが「Devil In Her Heart」のみC/Wとは別音源。また「Lend Me Your Comb」は1995年の『The Beatles Anthology 1』と同一音源と解説されている。
前作から新たに『On Ａｉｒ』のタイトルが付属した。邦題は『オン・エア〜ライヴ・アット・ザ・BBC Vol.2』。今作は日本でもトップ3入りするヒットを記録したが時代も異なり前作の9位ながら40万越えという売上枚数では大きく劣る結果となった。同時発売で前作がリマスター&音声追加収録でリニューアル再発された。12月には『Live At The BBC-The Collection-』として生産限定盤ボックスでも発売された。O社記録では『Live At The BBC-The Collection-』の売上は今作ではなく、前作『Live At The BBC』のリマスター盤に加算集計された模様。
1994年時点でジョージ・マーティンが厳選して使える音源は全部収録したのが前作、時を経て2013年の向上した技術で使える音源が増えて新たに選曲されたのが今作という事にはなっているけど、今回はちょっとトークで水増ししているように思う。日本盤ブックレットには歌詞の日本語訳と一緒にトークの訳も掲載されているのだが…茶番的なトークの数々はシュールを通り越して何を言っているのか何がやりたかったのか、これは一体どういうノリでこんな意味不明なトークをしているのか…と混乱してくるような謎トークばかりでまるで中身が無い。当時の番組の雰囲気を伝えるという事で意味はあるのかもしれないが、文化の違いなのか？ユーモアを交えているっぽいんだけど全く面白くないぞ…。ボーナスの4人のインタビューは1人8分程度あって他の意味不明トークと違ってさすがに中身のある事を語っているんだけどこれはこれでかなり長い。延々英語なので訳を字で見た方が早く、音源はただリスニング能力が試されるだけだったりもして…。前作以上に資料集的でBBC音源に関しては個人的にはもうこれ以上は掘り下げたいところはないかなと。前作だけも正直雰囲気は伝わったし。
